Services | Classes | Calendar

We welcome all persons to participate in our services, classes, and events, regardless of the faith tradition, or lack of one, they represent. The core values of Buddhism and the spiritual practice of meditation are conducive to enhancing any other spiritual tradition and its practices. Generally speaking, those unfamiliar with Buddhist practices should plan on attending a Sunday morning service.

When attending a service, we recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that don’t bind in the thighs or knees. Ideally, clothing should be more muted in color so as not to distract.

Please do not wear shorts to services, and please bring or wear socks when in the temple.

Sunday Public Service: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Sunday morning service begins at 10 a.m. and lasts one hour. We typically start our service with traditional chanting (Yebul and Maha Prajna Paramita) followed by a 20 to 30 minute meditation period (seated meditation) followed by a Dharma talk (teaching). Tea is served afterward wherein one can ask questions and meet other people on this path.
Thursday Evening Service: 7:00 - 8:15 p.m.

Two twenty five minute sittings are interspersed with five minutes of walking meditation followed by communal chanting of the Heart Sutra.

We recommend that you have some previous experience with this meditation before attending this service.
  Monday Evening Service: 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

The Monday night service consist of chanting Yebul, a 30 minute silent sitting meditation, walking meditation, and then another 30 minute silent sitting meditation. The service will conclude with the Evening Bell Chant. There is no Dharma Talk during this service.
Full Moon Chanting: 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Kido (way of energy) practice takes place each month on the evening of the full moon from 7-8 p.m. It involves the use of chant as an alternative form of concentration practice. Kido often includes drumming though this is secondary to the goal of concentration.

Mini-Retreats: 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.

A retreat is an excellent way to examine your inner self and to grow spiritually. We offer mini-retreats, all-day retreats, and extended retreats.

Mini-retreats are offered the third Friday of each month. The suggested fee is $10.

Precept Ceremony

Essentially a conversion ceremony, it is designed for persons who wish to publicly declare their intention to be guided by the Precepts in their daily lives and interactions with all beings and to acknowledge the Triple Gem - Buddha, Dharma, Sangha - as their refuge.  Participants are given a Buddhist name, a certificate, and a neck mala.

This ceremony, often annually, is offered when interest is sufficient. Please contact us for information and scheduled times.
